I can remember back so far when a couple of banks were locally owned. I remember names like Granite City Trust, First National, and others. They are all gone now. Some closed, some sold out to bigger banking corporations and some simply changed names.
I dealt with the people inside and not with the sign on the building.
Why such a big deal about this bank changing? Because it’s called GCS Credit Union? Anyone remember the last day our plant was actually Granite City Steel?
Be glad that bank is only changing names and not closing the doors. I don’t care about their political stances anymore than they care about mine.
If you don’t like it, move your money to one of the other corporate owned banks.
Oh and with sleepy Joe at the wheel, I’ve moved half of my portfolio to buying gold instead of trusting market viability.
