But I got to thinking --- and free advice to anyone who wants to change the world for the better - and you can even take the idea as your own...
What makes an 'arm' that we supposedly have the RIGHT to bear? Is it the gun itself?
Even if we came to our senses and were able to amend this amendment....we still have so many that have already been manufactured.
You have the right to an 'arm' so this Amendment says.
However, I got to thinking... I notice at stores you can pick up a pack of Gilette Trac II or Atra razors every time you go if you want. Not every store, but they still sell those blades.
The problem, you can't find a handle for either anywhere. They no longer manufacture them, but I guess there are enough old handles out there to manufacture the blades.
It's too bad, because they're the only Gillette blades that don't require a mortgage. Here are some good cheaper blades, but no handles. It's one reason I don't use Gillette...I"m not paying $5 for a cartridge.
Where the hell am I going with this?
Guns are everywhere..... but in order, not only do they need a person to operate it.....but the gun itself needs
So hey, I propose an opposite scenario. Knock yourself out getting as many 'handles' as you want.
I would personally go after the 'cartridge' that is inserted in the handle.
I would go after the bullets. If tobacco feels regulated, it would only a tip of the iceberg of what should be applied to bullets.
Yes, there are still many in circulation and in stockpiles, but they will get spent faster than the guns will.
I know that probably won't pass,either.
But I have at least provided two concrete solutions to this issue.
What's the GOP solution?
More thoughts and prayers?
When you ban books before you ban guns, you've admitted that you're more afraid of children learning than you are of children dying.
