One thing I do notice from the pictures above, I am not sure about Edwardsville or the last school menu listed, but Alton is outsourced. I recently saw the complaints on facebook that a schoolboard member had to post to calm everyone down because they thought that our lunch ladies jobs were going to be outsourced. Once she calmed that down, all the complaints started about the hot lunch. It seems that the district cannot do anything right. I know that a rather large supplier, Sysco, recently went out of business and left a lot of businesess in a bind. There were some parents on facebook that stated that they had meetings with the Superintendent and she stated that they had ordered these kits over 6 weeks ago when the plan was still up in the air over whether we would be in person or not. They are trying to get the supplies in but are not able to get them delivered ASAP. The companies that may be able to get them are outsourced and have more resources. I get it, the kids need hot meals. However, maybe you can use the EBT cards that they gave us and supply meals for a just a few weeks while they try to get the supply in. Once we are further in school and it is still an issue, THEN, maybe we can be more upset.
