Yet, this victim narrative that started with Rush back in the Clinton years about the 'mainstream liberal media' is the biggest crock out there.
There are plenty of echo chambers in which people on the far right choose to surround themselves, so that 24/7 they are fed the lines they need to keep their narrative from being nuanced in any way.
The St. Louis radio dial isn't all that great, but at least there are some alternatives that can be found...and Chicago has a weak signaled liberal station... However, traveling through much of the USA...most talk radio stations are pretty much right wing.
With a steady dose of Faux News and Right wing talk...the echo chamber has been established and there is no hour of the day that one actually is left waiting or hearing an opposing viewpoint.
This victim narrative is ridiculous as right wing talk has claimed the radio airwaves (thanks Reagan for obliterating the fairness doctrine)....and then on TV there's not only Faux News, which some now see as too centrist...but Newsmax, Blaze....and whatever other networks each talking head has created... I think Kermit Levin has a network as well.
Yup, keep that echo chamber airtight...without the flow of ideas.
It's very influential....and people who lean right have no credible claim of media bias, when they really have built their own media empires.
When you ban books before you ban guns, you've admitted that you're more afraid of children learning than you are of children dying.
