The Madison County Board did approve their recommendation for a re-opening plan for Madison County. As stated during the Madison County Board meeting, their resolution is not legally enforceable or overrides the Governor’s Executive Order.
For additional explanation of the County Board resolution, please contact your County Board Rep or Madison County Health Department at (618) 692-8954.
“As Mayor of Granite City, I participated in the conference call this morning with Governor Pritzker to discuss this important issue. There is a possibility of consequences to our businesses and community for not continuing to abide by the Executive Orders issued by the Governor.
For business owners and especially those that have State licenses, please consult with your legal counsel and insurance provider on your options, liabilities and protections for any potential re-opening. The City of Granite City will continue to abide by the Executive Orders and take action on criminal complaints as necessary.
We look to our State Senators and Representatives to continue to work with the Governor’s Office in order to improve the re-opening plan for our region and provide clear direction for the Granite City community.”
