The only pro-nouns that mean anything.
You have a right to freedom of speech. However, you can't threaten to shoot the President or yell "Fire' in a movie theater.
You have the right to keep and bear arms but if you discharge a weapon in the city, you can and will be arrested.
You have a right to peaceful protest and assembly but if you start breaking windows, burning buildings, etc... you can and will be arrested.
In other words, when the authors of our Bill of Rights designed it, they knew there would be people who took advantage and tried to use them for purposes not intended.
JL can walk up and down the sidewalk in front of the police station with a sign that says, "cops are crooked". If he mentions any one officer by name, he can be sued for slander.
So while we are so blessed to have constitutional rights, they are not "total". If the government whose main job is to protect the citizenry, feels as it does now, that it's in our best interest to "lock down" the country, they are within their right of power to do so. It doesn't mean they are taking away our rights.
