I played and coached baseball at various levels from Pee Wee to Semi Pro for 42 years. 8 and 9 years olds should be learning cut off throws, positional awareness, the ball is always live. Not worried about getting cut by some overbearing coach who thinks their "heart" isn't in the game enough. Your job right now is to teach fundamentals of the game to a child and display a positive and encouraging climate for that to take place. For a child to develop "The Love Of The Game"..they have to first fall in love with the game. I have met many parents and coaches at the youth level, and I can only hope that you realize the disservice you are providing youth baseball with your current attitude.
