I read an article one time about the Emperor of Japan, on his decision not to invade America after the pearl harbor attack, one that had been planned by the way. He was purported to have said,"we wont be invading America because behind every blade of grass will stand an american citizen with a gun"
He feel he was a wise man.
I feel this though will hold true at least for the next twenty years. I feel after that we will be in trouble, and I might add, more trouble than we are in now, and thats a lot.
My wife and I have extreme poliical veiws, but almost every day we have comment or two about the news or some agenda and we either come up with a comprimise, or agree to disagree for now.
Isnt this the way our elected officials are supposed to do?, or at lest I thought so. No one has any respect for anyone at all, and that is a great deal of our problem.
On gun control, i have mixed feelings on the so called "assault weapons", but feel that most dont even know what one is. Its our right to own one if we want and if things continue to go as they are, we might need one. I watched a program last nite about how the poor whites and jews were forced to leave their homes in Europe, and were forced into trains and families were seperated. The strong were forced to labor digging tunnels for the war effort for an upstart called Hitler. The Jews, women and children were sent to the gas chamber. As i watched this alone, my heart cried for these folks from long ago but I realized that it really hasnt been that long. The very large piles of bodies reminded me that we need to leave the second amendment alone. Then president Ike said we must take pictures of this horror or it will be forgotten. Good thinking there, i feel a lot of our people in this country have forgotten why we came here to began with.
Its too early for a cigar, but all this thinking has got we wore to a frazzle. As the infamous Forrest Gump said once said "im not a smart man, but I love our country and our freedom". he did say that didnt he?, im takin a nap to recharge what little brain i have.
