I, also, do payroll for people who are in a different building than mine. The time it takes for me to produce their checks often varies upon my getting the other required signature or a computer glitch or something else, but it often varies by several minutes.
So, knowing that others are waiting on my notice for their checks, immediately as said checks are ready I call them at their extension and let them know so that they can send someone over for them. They've been waiting for me, of course I let them know when I'm done.
Do you really think Mel is supposed to be sitting in the doorway waiting for the others to be able to complete their jobs so that she can complete hers? Really? That's ridiculous. And juvenile to require of her.
