Viessman's attorney used the word "whiteout" as his last utterance in a dire attempt to place a question mark in everyone's minds.
Regarding requests for copies of candidate's petitions .. the first day of filing, December 12th, ten candidates were in line to file their petitions at 8am to be eligible for the lottery drawing (Lottery Drawing is done to determine each candidates name placement on the ballot).
By or around 8:30 am, Randy Viessman had asked for copies of his opposition's petitions which is currently Randy Presswood and Danny Kreher for Supervisor. Charles Luehmann requested petition copies of his opposition which is currently Donald Moore, in return, copies of Charles Luehmann's petition was requested. Tammy Hanfelder requested petition copies of her opposition, Elaine Beckland for Tax Assessor, in return Elaine Beckland asked the same for Hanfelder's.
The Clerk's duties during the filing period does not include proofing the candidates petitions, that responsibility is exclusively the candidate's and circulator.
As of yet, we do not know when the Township Clerk learned that the petitions had been notorized.
