Okay, I had planned to come here this morning to tell you about the wonderful golf weekend I had with my cousin. Even after hearing the morons in Washington passed the health care bill, I went out and shot four under yesterday after shooting two under on Saturday. So I was in a great mood despite Capitol Hill.
Then, on the way back in town last night I pull into an area convenience store where I decided to top off the old tank and pick up a copy of the BND. As I was waiting in line, I noticed a very strangely dressed woman along with her very loud and slovenly dressed twelve or thirteen year old. Both carried two of those power energy drinks like "Red Bull or Red Dog", something along those lines. The girl who bordered on obese carried two Twinkies and mom also took time to pick up a couple of donuts. As they laid their goods on the counter the mother says to the daughter, "hey, we better pick up something for grandma too". So, the daughter walks over to one of the aisles and "snaps into a slim jim". She picked up a couple of sticks for grandma to munch on while she and mom did their thing with the Hostess people.
While I thought this was such a poor example for the mother to set, considering the problem with obesity in teens these days, I could only feel sorry for the young lady. She was heading down a path of poor health by stuffing her face with junk food at 10:30 at night.
Now guess what really ticked me off my friends. You guessed it. The mom pulled out her LINK card to pay for their goods. Over $9.00 for nothing more than junk food. That same $9.00 could probably have bought them a footlong at Subway along with two diet sodas or even water. Instead, they used the money that we give them for crap. I don't get it. This young lady is learning from mom that it's not only okay to take welfare, it's okay to spend it on crap. Another generation of freeloaders is being raised right before our eyes folks.
Yes, I know that this President leans toward socialism and I realize this kind of abuse came long before him. What I don't get though is they are trying to secure health care for all Americans while they allow people to abuse other funds. This girl already bordered on obesity. She will, if she follows in mom's footsteps, be more prone to heart diesease, diabetes and other health disorders brought on by poor diet. She will therefore continue to take more than her fair share from the socialistic pot we are preparing in Washington.
I would propose legislation that would prevent food stamps, Link cards, WIC, or any other "welfare" programs from being used to buy anything but the fruits, vegetables, healthy meats and milk. For all you bleeding hearts, no I don't ever want to see a child go hungry but I hate to see one being stuffed with crap like this young lady was. She has no chance. Mom's a blood sucking welfare rat and the girl sees this as a normal way of life.
Okay welfare supporters, let me have it. It's good to be home.
