Hello Brother Ogstad,
The rules for retirees working varies among Funds.
Here at the New York State Teamsters Pension Fund, before a retiree becomes employed, he/she must first fill out a " Re-employment Request Form".
In general, a retiree can work under 40 hours per month with stipulations that set limits as to the type and locality of the work that can be performed. The age of the retiree is not a factor as to the number of hours he/she can work.
Working while retired has been a nationwide issue for some time now and have caused many retirees to protest. There needs to be a resolution on this matter.
The members of our organization have been petitioning to have changes made to the work rules which currently exist.
There are many retirees who are faced with this situation. All retirees should appeal to their respective Funds.
Fraternally,Gino Arilotta
