Hello, My mom just retired from Local # 748 in Modesto, California. She retired at age 72 and worked for Tri Valley Growers for 25 years. It seems that retirement should have come with some money from somewhere. I thought I would do a little research and find out what benefits a retiree receives when they retire. What is a pension check? Is this from the retirement plan? I am looking for any information to ask her chapter or previous employer. Thank you for the help.

Just by searching this website - it seems that benefits are reduced after 65 - I guess people are forgetting that we are living longer. I belong to CSEA chapter 668 and ever since I began working for my employer it seems that all I do is worry about retirement money - so I need your help.
