Posted by Rhonda McGuffin My name is Rhonda, I am writing in regards to my younger brother, and his family. A little history about my younger brother Dave, he is a 34 year old man that has been with his wife for better than 12 years. They have three beautiful kids ranging in age from 9 to 18 months. My sister-in-law is a fulltime student, and my brother is soul support of this family. He works very hard caring for the sick and injured at a local emergency room. He has been a volunteer firefighter, and served for many years. His life has always been about helping others, but now he needs your help. One year six months ago he purchased a doublewide mobile home, and had it placed at the Jarki trailer park in Shepardsville, KY. The rental contract was filled with many promises that were ignored once the trailer was in place. My sister-in-law corresponded numerous times with the parks owner to try and resolve getting the work done to their lot as was promised in the rental agreement. To no avail my sister-in-law consulted an attorney in regards to the broken rental agreement, only to find that Bullitt Co., KY has never accepted laws to protect renters. After the attorney sent a written letter to the park owner the park owner made my brother and his familys life difficult. She has made many upsetting phone calls, or would just show up whenever she decided, but most importantly refused to renew their lease for the lot the home sits on. Because of them seeking legal advice they have become the subjects of RETALIATION. Recently the park owner has evicted them, and has refused to renew their lease, not because the lot payment was not made, but because of them seeking legal advice. According to the letter from her attorney if they do not move the doublewide trailer by the end of September then she can take possession of their home. The cost to move this particular trailer is upwards seven thousand dollars. My brothers family is a family of five, three young children living on an income of less than twenty thousand a year. My sister-in-law is a fulltime student. When they moved their home to this particular park just a mere one year six months ago, I am sure their plans was not to have to move it again until she was out of college. They are scrapping by as it is, and now unable to obtain the monies needed to move the trailer elsewhere (which is another dilemma all its own). This means that not only is it possible to lose the only home they have ever had, but that the owner of the trailer park could possibly become the new owner of the home. This will force them into bankruptcy. She is the one breaking the rental contract, and because my family members chose to use their constitutional right by seeking legal advice they are the ones that will be LOSING. One more homeless family, on the streets. Now we know why we have so many homeless families, and we call this justice??? My sister-in-law has contacted several agencies in Jefferson & Bullitt Co. in Kentucky seeking help, but they have been either ignored, or the agency was unable to help to the extent they need. Others stated that they would be able to help, once they become homeless. I thought that trying to prevent homelessness would be more important then waiting till someone becomes homeless. As a student myself I am unable to help in any manner. I cannot work very often while taking twenty-four credit hours each quarter, and I too am living in poverty while continuing my education If there is anyone out there that can help save my family members I would really appreciate the assistance, and considering my brothers luck... well no doubt hed shed a few tears, as would I. If you would like to contact me @ nurse4hire@msn.com I would me more than willing to give the information to assist them in their time of need. They are not looking for handouts, just a hand up! A company that could voluteer to move the trailer? A community that has a lot big enough to place it?? Anything would be appreciated Thank you ! Link: the kids
