Hello Mr. Christi,
Regarding your post of Aug. 24, 2004 entitled A Teamster Christmas,
which was very interesting and well written, I feel that I must address some of your views.
You cite two allegations against two Locals as a basis for justifying your description of the Teamsters Union. I ask you, do these alleged acts outweigh all of the good done by the largest Union in the country during the last 100 years?
The Teamsters were the among the forerunners in creating a better prosperity for workers.
Your father is correct when he says Today everyone concentrates on the bad side of the teamsters organization.
Tell me, isnt this what you are doing when you post in such a negative light?
This is why we all need to do whatever we can so as to improve the image of the Teamsters.
You, the son of a great Teamster, can also be of help in this area and one of the ways is for you to express your feelings a little more carefully especially when you put your words in print.
Having optimism and faith can't hurt.
Lets study the drawing very well before we paint the portrait.
With all due respects to your father,
In Solidarity,
Gino Arilotta
