Re: Questions-Lipton, union death benefit, pension?

I did contact the president of that local today, but he didn't know anything about any of these things. I assume if my grandfather would have had a pension he would have been given info about it when he retired, but he had just had a nervous breakdown and was in the hospital, so something could have gotten missed. I just wanted to make sure for my grandmother. The friend that told my grandmother about the $500 death benefit said my grandfather would have had to turn in his union card when he retired and got a withdrawal card, which my grandmother has (I believe he said she would have to send that in to the union to collect the money). I contacted the Unilever headquarters and found out he did have life insurance but it's a mess, if they can get it straightened out my grandmother may get help there. They are saying he received it in monthly payments while he was still alive, but they never recieved any payments. I know that doesn't have anything to do with the union though, I'm working on that for her. If you know of anyone else I can contact about the pension or the death benefit I would appreciate it, and if not, thanks for trying :)
