As far as working after retirement im almost sure it depends what Conference or Joint Council you are in. As for me, I retired in 1995 after 31 1/2 years of service to Local 802 in Long Island City,NY. Before I put my papers in I asked my Local President about working after retirement. He told me that I could work at any job I wanted to as long as it was not in the same job that I was leaving. I was a Route Salesman for a Bread Company. If I wanted to work for a Bread Company I would have to work outside a 100 Mile radious of our Local's jurisdiction or risk losing my Pension and benifits if I were to get caught. There have been numerous post put up here on this site by Men from all over the USA and Canada on this subject and they all seem to have different rules for different Conferences. If I were you I would call your Local Union's Pension fund or Union officals and find out for sure so you don't get in trouble. Good Luck!
