Posted by Diane Sue is correct, there is a medical condition that causes this to occur..however..that is not the only cause. This did happen to me once, just after I was involved in a situation with a negative spirit. During my paralysis I felt a spirits energy around me moving deliberately so I know it was not just the normal sleep paralysis. hugs, Diane --Previous Message--

Hi Christie,
: Hi, I was just wondering...
: A while ago, over a year, I had a really strange
: feeling come over me one night. I've never experienced
: anything like this before or again since. I woke up in
: the middle of the night and could not seem to move. I
: know I was totally awake, but even though I wanted to
: move it was like something was weighing me down on my
: back and all I was able to move was my fingers, and
: wasn't even able to talk. This feeling stayed for about
: 5 minutes then just seemed to lift. Afterward I went
: back to bed and told my mom about it the next day, and
: she told me I was probably half asleep still. I haven't
: ruled this out, but it's just the fact that every time
: I was really sleepy I have never had that much of a
: paralyzing feeling of being weighed down. Nothing like
: that happened again... it was just a very weird
: experience for me.
: Just wondering if there is an explanation for this
: other than being half asleep, because I am positive I
: was wide awake.
