HI all, I joined this a few weeks ago( its free) and was amazed at how many in my area are apart of this. Some of the things people have posted to get rid of..scanners, bunkbeds, a large dog house etc etc. If/when you sign up they hook you up in your area..its really quite awsome. Good for those looking to clear clutter of things still good but no longer used or folks looking for something. Its all free, hugs, Diane
The basics: It's an email listing that allows people to post items they would like to give away.
Examples of items posted: plants, bikes, children's stuff (stroller, colthes...), furniture and a ton more!
someone will want it! All you have to do is make email arrangements to pick up and it's yours! I really recommend it!
If you join up its better to set up a separate email
address just for this stuff.
http://www.freecycle.org/
The worldwide (!) Freecycle Network is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Each local group is run by a local volunteer moderator (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your city by clicking on the region on the right. It will generate a automatic e-mail which, when sent, will sign you up for your local group and send you an response with instructions on how it works. Or, go directly to the webpage for your city's group by clicking on your city's link on the left. Can't find your city? It takes about ten minutes to start your own (click on "Start your own" for instructions). Have fun and keep on Freecyclin'!
