... but that doesn't mean that they SHOULD be done.
Yes it will fit but requires a good bit of work.
The 6 engine has more torque, the GT-6 revs better.
You would really want to use the 6 box, the GT box is barely adequate for the 2.0 engine.
Then the rear gear would become a big concern because it, like the GT gearbox, is too weak to take the torque loads of the 2500...
Another point to consider is that the car is no longer original, if that's a concern to you.
Also if you are inclined to do it, 1st make sure that the 6 engine is decent rebuildable condition & not all ate up inside ie worn thrusts, worn cam bores, cam & tappets, etc, etc, or you could be looking at a very expensive rebuild before you even get started.

Reading all the issues of the conversion online, it does not seem worth it, but I found a TR6 engine nearby
Thanks Glen. Another question. What problems would I encounter if I replace my engine with the TR6 engine. Will I be able to also use the TR6 transmission ? Thanks again
Oscar I live in a free state so don't have to deal with that stuff but I would think that setting it as lean as possible and retarding the ignition timing would lower it, and possibly lashing the valves at a wider clearance, temporarily, in order to reduce overlap, would help some as well.
You could also fix it by moving to a free state...

I had to again get a waiver (to get a waiver, I needed to prove that I have spent over $75 trying to fix it) because my GT6 emission test failed again. My HC was 200 points over. 600 was ok but mine was over 800 (too lean?) my CO passed. Good for another 2 yrs. Any ideas how else to lower these annoying crap?
