Thanks Glen,
I found lots of suggested settings mentioned on the web. My manual says 18mm, a friend's manual from ZS says 17mm, some people on the web say 16mm and for "race prep" Kasteners said set them to 16.5mm. Since I am not racing and I am/was dealing with a super rich condition I will stick with the 18mm value.
Thanks,
Doug L.
The 18mm is correct for the early carbs, no value listed for a spec measured outboard.
Glen
It appears to be my month for starting threads.
I am working on our '67 GT6's carbs which were totally gummed up from sitting. I am fitting new float valves and need to adjust the float height. These are not the same as the later CDS, CDSE, or CD2SE carbs.
The factory manual says to set the early 150CD float height so the big end of the float (near the pivot) is 18mm from the carb body when the carb is inverted. The factory manual does not specify a height for the outboard ends of the floats. Can anyone who has worked on the early carbs confirm the 18mm value and have you ever seen a value for the outboard end of the float height as is presented for later carbs?
Thanks,
Doug
