I think I understand what you are saying-
The trick is to mount the rear of the diff as per triumph, (that is centralised in the chassis, the bushed ears on the backplate mount as the triumph ears would), and to have the front plate made to account for misalignment.
So the input flange will sit out of parallel alignment with the gearbox output flange, the propshaft will run at an angle,- but this is all fine, the prop is okay to run at that angle and is the norm on many rwd cars. More important is that the gearbox and diff flanges sit at a level, equal plane to each other.

: Hi guys.
: I'm installing a Subaru R160
: differential in my "new" gt6
: and while mocking it all up fount that
: if I want to use the original rear
: frame mounts to hold the back end of
: the differential, it would end up with
: the Subie differential quite angled in
: the frame due to the offset of the
: input flange. I have read and sean
: pictures many times that all that is
: needed is to make a different rear
: cover with "ears" like the
: Triumph diff but I don't see how that's
: possible without having a considerable
: out of alignment situation. I know
: some of you have done this and I would
: appreciate any advice. Thanks. P.J.
