Did you see any issues with the fluid itself? ~ as compared to dot3 that goes acidic(?).

: Thanks Hazen,
:
: The parts I ordered from the U.K.
: arrived yesterday. This included the
: brake hose kit. Measuring from end to
: end (hex to hex, not tip to tip) both
: the hoses came in at 10-1/4" with
: the rear brake hoses having the shorter
: threads and copper washer at the wheel
: cylinder. 10-1/4" is longer than
: what I currently have on the car (9-1/2
: rear and about 9-7/8" front... but
: measured installed on the car... so
: probably in error). I have always
: thought the rear hoses were marginally
: short in length and the fronts appear a
: bit long. I will make a follow-up post
: about the hose lengths once the
: holidays are behind us and I have some
: time to install the hoses.
:
: My GT6 has had DOT-5 for 20+ years.
: Like you, I had no problem bleeding the
: system. However, I recently had a
: clutch seal failure where a master
: cylinder seal had turned to
: "goo". Like your car, 20
: years ago these were new seals that had
: never been exposed to DOT-3 or DOT-4 so
: I was surprised to find the goo.
: However, it has been 20+ years and
: nothing lasts forever. The reason I am
: going through the whole brake (and
: clutch) system is I am concerned that
: other seals may be reaching the end of
: their lives.
:
: Thanks again. I'll post more about the
: hose kit and hose lengths once I have
: installed it.

: I just rebuilt my whole brake system.
: New
: hoses, lines, and rear brake cyls,
: rebuilt the master and calipers[16P]
: (clutch master and slave rebuilt too).
: The whole system was new and dry so
: used DOT5.
: Bleeding was a cinch. I ran a piece of
: tubing from the bleeder valve back to
: the master, opened the bleeder, and
: pumped the brake pedal until the
: bubbles at the master stopped. repeat
: for the other wheels. Took nearly no
: time at all and I did it alone, with no
: mighty-vac, ez-bleeder, or speed
: bleeders.
: If you are changing fluids run the hose
: into a jar or something instead of
: recycling it.
