You'll have to use several taps; there isn't much depth so you'll have to grind one (or 2) down to get the threads deep enough, once you get them started with a full-length tap.

: Information like that would have nice to
: know when making the purchase...Maybe
: I'll drop BPNW a line.
: I'm hoping I can find a vendor who will
: sell just the valves.
:
: On an interesting note, I was going
: through my garage today, and as I have
: my bonnet open I reached down and ran
: the manual primer a couple times. As
: luck would have it, it worked! Problem
: is, it is my cross threaded one... I'll
: make it work for now so I can get my
: carbs running right while I work out
: what to do with my pump.

: I remember there were two sizes of
: valves. When I rebuilt the one AC pump
: I have I had to be careful to get the
: right size. I bought mine from a
: non-business seller on eBay who was
: willing to measure the valve diameters
: for me.

: just replacing them. The kit I bought
: came with some, but the hold the valves
: fit in in my pump measure roughly
: 5/8" (I have not yet removed them)
: and the new valves are
: 3/4"--however, someone on FB
: assures me it's a tight fit but they
: will work.
