You are correct, the mains were between 0.002" and 0.003" while the rod ends were all consistent at 0.0015". I wish I had used my telescoping gauges to get my own measurement on the cam bores (at least those I could reach) instead of relying on the machinist telling me "they are OK". I could feel vertical movement in the cam and suspect that is where the lion's share of the oil pressure is bleeding off.
A friend reminded me of something to do for peace of mind... install a different oil pressure switch. This is my son's car and I don't want him watching the oil pressure gauge while driving and the idea of a switch set for 10 to 15 PSI sounds like a good way to draw his attention to problems should they occur.
Now it's time to turn my attention to other areas like the loud rear end I noticed on my break-in drives.
Thanks again for all the help.

: It sounds like it isn't as
: "lazy" as before, which is
: good.
: I didn't look through the old posts but
: I seem to recall your crank clearances
: @ .003ish on the mains? Beyond that is
: a considerable bleed @ low rpm, coupled
: with suspect bleed around cam journals,
: it may just be all that thing will make
: at low speed.
: I wouldn't be concerned at all unless
: something changes, nice job on that
: pump!
