After reading Oscars posting I must admit I'm a bit jealous. I can't get 2000 miles on an engine let alone 200,000
As an update to my smoke issues: After removing the valve cover and rocker arm and taking off the valve springs on No.6 intake. Which was the worst cylinder. The valve seal looks perfect and so does the guide to stem clearance.
As for crankcase breathing I'm just not sure what to think. I have never seen a TR engine with absolutely no blowby until this one. With the engine running and the filler removed from the valve cover there is nothing coming out the top. Either this is a really tight fitting engine compression wise, or there is no crankcase venting going on.. Oil does flow back to the crankcase though so it must be O.K.
Also I restricted the external rocker arm oiler down to a .050 Diameter hole and it made no difference from unrestricted.
It's looking like a tear down is in the works but I hate to do the same thing over and over again. The bottom line is why does this thing keep burning up oil control rings???
