Well it's running and driving again! OMG I forgot how much fun it "isn't" grafting something in that didn't come from the factory that way. Waaay toooo much cam and compression but after a warm up,head re-torque, and adjust the valves, took it on a 15 mile hwy cruise to seat the rings. Will probably have to put in the big radiator and plumb an oil cooler also. Even with the timing backed off looks like it will have to feed on race gas. Also looks like a giant a$$ battery and gear reduction starter are going in to get it to restart hot.....Not sure what I was thinking when I decided to put this engine in???......ahh the looks!!!! Not too many '64 Spits running around esp that sound like this thing!
