I have two GT6 Transmissions. One is a spare and the other is to be cannibalized. I may be help you, but you'd have to wait quite a while. They are hundreds of miles away, but I do visit "my project" a few times a year. Let me know. BTW: the nylon ball on the end of the shifter "will" come apart in time - I'd just by a new one.

: Welcome,
:
: On a '68 does the carb needle adjust
: from above (like later cars) or does
: the jet adjust from below? If you are
: used to HS series SUs, the early type
: Stromberg carb is very similar. Parts
: are available from the usual sources
: including Joe Curto who probably has
: everything you need to go through the
: carbs and recondition it.
:
: Unfortunately I do not have spare
: gearbox parts. A quick look through
: the online exploded diagrams at
: Spitbits may tell you if the shifter
: parts you need are shared by the
: Spitfire which would give you a lot
: more possible donors. By shifter cup
: are you referring to the hemispherical
: ball on the bottom of the shift lever
: or the metal cup that holds that part
: in place? At one time vendors offered
: "rebuild kits" for those
: parts to tighten up the lever and that
: ball was part of the kit. Which you
: are you looking for?
