On a '68 does the carb needle adjust from above (like later cars) or does the jet adjust from below? If you are used to HS series SUs, the early type Stromberg carb is very similar. Parts are available from the usual sources including Joe Curto who probably has everything you need to go through the carbs and recondition it.
Unfortunately I do not have spare gearbox parts. A quick look through the online exploded diagrams at Spitbits may tell you if the shifter parts you need are shared by the Spitfire which would give you a lot more possible donors. By shifter cup are you referring to the hemispherical ball on the bottom of the shift lever or the metal cup that holds that part in place? At one time vendors offered "rebuild kits" for those parts to tighten up the lever and that ball was part of the kit. Which you are you looking for?
