consider R&Ring the timing chain cover to check chain and tensioner.
Bearing check?
gearbox-
check for trash in oil sample
Remove top cover and check for excessive "wobble" of mainshaft gears, excessive end float, adequate clearance between "back" of sync rings/gears.
You can also inspect the layshaft by removing front plate and tail housing, stand vertical, and slide the shaft out with a dummy shaft.
