If the effect to have those "sliding roofs" were so great, why don't more mfg.s offer it?

: Me three.
:
: I would say no just on general
: principles. As the owner of a GT6 and a
: CGT6 I think a moon/sun roof is a poor
: compromise. I have owned only one
: vehicle with such a roof and as Doug
: says it stays closed most of the time.
:
: I would be wary too of a 40+ year old
: cloth roof. If you go ahead make as
: sure as possible it will remain pliable
: AND you know where you are going to get
: it replaced when it stops being so.

: I believe you mean Webasto, not
: Wobasto.
:
: If the folks at Webasto say it is not
: theirs I would believe them. It may be
: that some dealer marked the product as
: for a Triumph because of its size when
: it was in fact for some other car.
:
: Regardless of the panel's origins,
: personally I wouldn't use a 40+ year
: old folding cloth roof. While it may
: seem pliable and "like new",
: it will probably have started to
: experience dry rot while in storage.
:
: Besides, do you really want to cut a
: hole in the roof of your GT6? Our
: family has had several used cars with
: traditional sun roofs. We thought they
: would be "neat" and fun.
: They were neither and were seldom used.
:
: To each his own though.

: I have purchased a original uninstalled
: "dealer optioned" marked
: Triumph GT6 Wobasto folding Moon Roof
: still in the the original packaging and
: would like to install it. I have
: contacted modern day Wobasto and they
: informed me that they WOULD NOT install
: it or stand behind any installation as
: they do not recognize this product as
: there own. Any sugestions as to having
: it installed or should I even have it
: installed. Thank you J.
