Cams and Compression

I'm getting ready to rebuild my engine and want to make good decisions. I drive my GT6 everyday and mostly at freeway speeds. It has overdrive and I just changed the rear end gears to 3.36. I have been running HS6 carbs, and a lightened flywheel. I have a 6-3-1 header that I will install. I need to select a cam and decide if I should up the compression ratio. The competition manual talks about the S2 cam and 10.75 compression ratio. Is this practical with todays fuel? What are you guys running and are you happy with it?
