Dash support bracket

Hello again !

Like many others my GT6 is missing the dash support bracket wich goes over the tunnel cover (where the radio usually is).

I read someplace that this bracket should not be removed as it, somehow, plays a structural role.

Should I bother to locate one and install it ? I've been searching the web and it's not an easy item to find.

I like it better without that piece anyway, but if there realy is a structural issue, then I guess I'll keep looking
