I didn't suggest it in the recent post re driveline vibes, because in that case it is a developing problem, but I should probably mention it in general.
A nasty driveline vibration, that usually goes through "periods", can sometimes be caused by out of phase u-joints, ie the yokes on the opposite ends aren't lined up.
This can obviously be caused only by incorrectly refitting the sliding splined yoke during service.
Some shafts have master splines but many don't... Murphys law applies...
