: had the same problem on both my 69, and 73. it is not a mechanical problem, its in the electrical system. i traced mine to my starter. when hot i wasnt getting a current, not sure why, but i replaced the brushes, and that did it. its definately this if your bendix is not making a connection with the flywheel, or it just goes dead, and wont spin. hope i helped. good luck
