Tire wear

Hi again..
I,m wondering if there are any tire wear experts out there. My front tires are wearing considerably more than the rears. Mostly on the outer 1/3 of the tire. Also some checking or maybe you would call it flat spots evenly around. I have never had a professional alignment but I have done some very careful measuring and the best alignment I could with limited facilities..
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.. P.J.
