Had A/C experience with a 67 GT6, around 1975, in Miami. It was fitted with new (in 1975) Toyota Corolla hardware. I did not do the conversion.
The evaporator unit was a standalone pancake that fit nicely into the passenger glovebox. The tiny compressor was down low, driven by an additional pulley grafted onto the crank.
It would freeze your b*lls off in the worst Miami summer. You knew when it was running, took the edge right off of the performance alright. But considering the Corollas of the day were like 1.6-1.8 L, not a bad match. And sitting on the Palmetto expressway in Miami afternoon rush hour traffic, oh yeah, it was so worth it.
