I built one into a 72 many years ago.Evaporator and fans went into the glove box cutout with a compound curve face to fit the opening. Alternator hung low and a Sanden compressor sat high on a custom cut engine plate and the stock alternator mount.
Worked wonderfully except it felt like you'd lost a cylinder when it kicked on. I always intended to convert the engine to a 2.5 to cope but instead it just sat in the yard for twenty years until I sold it last fall. It's undergoing a tart-up finally...
