It's all re-installed now. Do you [or anyone] know that these bushings ["bushes" for the Brits accross the pond] are required to be either "plastic" or teflon-based? Or can/have they been manufactured with anyother materials for a more machined fit?

: I've heard this a couple of times
: recently - seems there is a bad batch
: around (the problem is with the plastic
: bushes apparently). Trouble is that
: most (if not all) sellers source from
: the same maker so the problem could
: occur anywhere. The last person I
: heard this from had got good ones from
: Rimmers (UK) but they may have been
: good fortune. Suggest contacting your
: source, advising them of the problem
: (needs to be passed back up the supply
: chain or it'll never be corrected) and
: asking them to physically check their
: stock and see if they have any good
: ones. They ought to do this anyway or
: they'll be getting a lot more
: complaints!

: Cheers

: 'In process of rebuilding/reassembling
: the whole brake/hub/vertical link
: assembly and find that the plastic
: "bushings" between the
: [metal] tube "sleeve" and the
: plastic/Teflon "bushings"
: have [play of approximately .010-.015]
: with the Trunnion. 'Got this set from
: VB as a re-build kit.
: Here's the question: Who makes a
: snug/tight fit bushing for the
: Trunnion and Sleeve assembly?
