Valve color on Spit

I have a '66 Mk II Spitfire. I want to repaintthe valve cover the correct color. Jon Thomason's book under picture 1.39 on p. 14 says it "was usually painted a bronze/gold colour". Is there a rattle can that folks have used successfully to arrive at that color? Can you share a good color photo of the "correct" color? Thanks...
