Tim,
How are you attempting to push them in?
A Vise can do the trick, but a couple of thick washers on each side and a through bolt&nut will also do the trick.
Did you clean up the bores on the A-arms that they fit into?
A small brake hone, or a sanding cylinder in a drill ought to be enough to clean up any burrs.
Warm the bushings thoroughly first, hot water should do the trick.
Did the bushings come with lubricant? ISTR that the lube is silicone based.
