$90? That's from who? And I'm sorry, I visit Habor Frieght "occasionally" just to get ideas. Every tool I bought in the past from them soon failed. 'Nuff said there. I work with a tight budget too, as why my '80 is still in the garage now going into it's second summer.
How's the price of $65 and some change appeal to you? Appeals to me. And it's the real deal from England just like in the "Repair Operation Manual" [BL Cars Limited P/N AKM 4329] referencing the chapter "Rear Drive Shaft" para. 10 the part number S356C as seen illustrated, as well in the back of the book under Servicing Tools.
Rimmer Brothers just had it in the spring sale. I agree with Steve; if you want to do it right, spring for the right tools. Mine's at work awaiting a ['79 short] spare axle/hub assy. to "play" with first, before doing/re-doing my '80 hubs.
All the seals and bearings came via Nigel at Spitbits as a Christmas gift from my sweetheart. Call Nigel and talk it over with him. Maybe he can swing you a deal. Just don't expect Chinese tools as sufficient enough to do the job, and last. There's allot riding on the work you do.

: The current Moss price on the hub flange
: is $350...
: Sometimes (rarely) they will come off
: easy, but most have grown together as
: one by now, so the correct puller is
: essential.
: Good luck!

: I well remember ruining a hub using a
: three jaw puller on my Spitsix in 1981.
: Those stinkin' tapers never want to
: surrender! That's when I turned a
: substantial puller that has ben
: bulletproof ever since.
:
: I'll loan it to anyone but I've become
: more cautious in my older days and
: would ask a substantial deposit. If
: that works for you let me know cuz it's
: the ONLY way to do the job.

: I now remember how I reinstalled my
: hub.
: I used a deep socket and tapped it in.
: That was years ago when I performed
: that work.

: So do you use the nut to push the hub
: in
: place? Have the threads ever stripped
: on you by using this method?
:

: Don't need one to reinstall.

: Yep. That's what a local british car
: enthusiast also said before I worked on
: mine. Is this $90 puller also used to
: reinstall the hub? That's not really
: too bad of a price then.

: Can't you rent a puller from an auto
: store near you? When I pulled mine out,
: I used a 3 jaw puller. You can get one
: for $10 at a Harbor Freight Store. Good
: luck

: Hey does anyone have a used hub puller
: for sale? I was going to buy one but
: funds are short right now to pay 90
: bucks for one. If not I may make one,
: but if someone has one to unload let me
: know. Thanks! Tim

:
: Not a good idea Oscar! You were damn
: lucky that hub didn't bend or break. No
: I need the correct one.
