The thing about model car builders is that they loved cars before they ever had a prayer of owning a real one.I still build models of cars that I could never afford to own for real, but feel some sense of ownership with the completion of its likeness. Now I buy and restore older cars with the same care and attention to detail that I developed with scale models. My instruction sheet is now the information gleened from the racing knowledge and mechanical school of hard knocks of the contributers on this tread. While the parts of a GT6 are gratefully bigger than the "BB" sized model parts, they are some times as frustrating to assemble. For that, I thank all the gearheads who take the time to give complete strangers the benefit of their many years of scrapped knuckles, on this forum. We're still building models, they've just gotten bigger!

: O.K... I went to the model guy message
: board. I didn't realize people went
: that nuts over models.. I'm thinking
: that some race car photos need to be
: made available to those guys. If they
: are that in love with souped up models,
: I'm betting they would absolutely LOVE
: the real thing...
