And another way is to do it in firing order, pick a cylinder, turn the engine until the exhaust is just starting to open, and set the inlet. Do all the inlets, and again pick a cylinder, & turn the engine until the inlet is fully open and starting to close, and then set the exhaust.
No matter which method you use, the idea is to set the valve when it is on the base circle of the cam lobe.
