Just bought a 1969 GT6

brought a GT6 home this weekend. Never owned a triumph before. Have lots to learn.
Paperwork indicates car was factory competition prepared. one of five consecutively numbered cars that left the factory with competition preparation then were shipped to SAH for further preparation, then to USA.
Who is SAH? Was this common pratice? Would the car have been a 'special order'?
I bought the car from the original owner. It is still in very nice original, unrestored condition.
Where do I look for more information?
