Faulty back-up light

Hi !

I'm a kind of green in electrical work so a little help would be much appreciated !

Here's my problem:

The back-up lights on my GT6 ('68 MK1) aren't working. Before you ask: yes the bulbs are good !

The contacts in the sockets are clean and I checked them with a bulb and a battery, so I guess the wires are good too.

The wiring diagram shows a reverse light switch but I have no idea were it is.

Are these lights working even when the engine is not running ? (just by putting the transmission in reverse ?)

Any help on how to diagnose this problem would be welcomed !
