About the Corvette shocks: What model vette and or brand and part #s would be real welcome.

: I tested out the new setup with the
: Rimmer Bros. brackets and the Vette gas
: shocks. Works fine. Plenty of
: clearance between the shocks and the
: rotoflex joints.

: Well those brackets are not quite as
: simple to install as advertised. They
: require some surgery to the inner wheel
: well to clear. I put mine on a Spit
: which I put the rotoflex rear in. The
: brackets are intended to bolt under the
: body mount bolts. Rather than pull the
: gas tank out of my Spit, I cut the
: brackets a bit, then welded them on (in
: addition to bolting through the shock
: mount on the frame. The mounts give
: much more clearance to the wheel and
: tire, but not a lot to the rotoflex. I
: still have to drive it to make sure
: there will be enough clearance during
: operation. I'll let you know. By the
: way, Rimmer left out 2 spacers in the
: kit which they had to send me later.
: The shipping was $71 for the kit. As
: long as it works it should be worth it.

: I just got the Rimmer Bros. brackets.
: I
: picked up Corvette shocks to install
: ($15.09 each for gas shocks). Haven't
: had a chance to install or check
: clearances yet, since my car is off
: having sheet metal work done. I'll let
: you know when I have a chance.

: Just looking for some thoughts. I've
: always liked Konis, but am interested
: in getting a set with adjustable spring
: perches, which (as far as I know) Koni
: doesn't offer. So that leaves Gaz,
: Spax, and ???
:
: Thoughts on reliability/performance on
: the Gaz, Spax, or others? I'm planning
: to set the car up with an uprated front
: spring (probably drop it 1") for
: weekend driving and occasional
: autocross/track duty (nothing too
: serious).
:
: Any inputs you have are appreciated.

: Also probably going to get the Rimmer
: extension piece for roto GT6s to attach
: the rear shock to the frame rather than
: the lousy body mount that has already
: cracked once. Thoughts on that?
