I'm re-assembling a GT6 engine that has been apart for a long time and I need a memory refresher. It appears that the rear end of the camshaft just rotates exposed at the back of the block behind the back engine plate, and the helix cut into the cam journal is what keeps oil from leaking out. Is this correct or should there be a metal cap over it similar to a freeze plug here?
