"8 million fish?": Lake Norman a 32,000 acre impoundment, the NC lake with probably the highest fishing pressure in the state got 160,000 striper and if memory serves correct 40-50 thousand shad? I'm not counting other species of course but for us striper fishermen on Norman that's less .02% of all the stocking? We petitioned for years to have the State get involved and do something positive. Wrote pretty formal letters, submitted them properly through the chain and were told no each and every time. Now there's regulation surely aimed at us. We take that as a complement. What's that old movie with the song that says, "East bound and down, loaded up and trucking...we're gonna do what they say can't be done?" Anyway, my advise to our fellow anlers is to be careful dumping leftover healthy bait out of the tank after a long day fishing. The Wildlife officers now have a new way to right a ticket and get a fee off us. Best to just put all the left over bait in a bucket and dump it in the garbage at the landing...that's gonna smell nice, but at least you're following the new law. Aaron

Subset of your post: "The Wildlife Commission’s six hatcheries raise nearly 8 million fish for stocking into public, inland fishing waters every year."
