Posted by RHINO on 11/18/2004, 11:14 am, in reply to "Got Bait " The board discussed this last weekend and decided to make the date Sunday November 28th. Hope this doesn't inconvenience many folks. Tourney info will be posted soon, hopefully. At the festival this Saturday (Big Daddy's 12-5pm) there will be registration and information for the Kickoff Tourney. We hope everyone will come. Four guest speakers include, Rodney Crisco (hydro-glo lights techniques), Warren Turner (cast net seminar), Gus (electronics - graphs/maps) and Bobby Sizemore (bait care). Mike Lundy was to be the speaker but he qualified for a major saltwater tourney just recently...can't blame him. Ivy Robichaux will be MC'ing a kids casting contest. Robichaux's will also have a tent with fishing instruction, products and info. There will be an adult net casting contest sponsored with prizes to the winners. The NCWRC will be on hand with several biologist (including Christian Waters) along with a 300 gallon mobile acquarium with live species of Norman fish. Robert Wood and Decoy will have "home" bait tank examples setup with live bait for viewing. The American Cancer Society, the Convention Visitor's Bureau, Country Suites along with other partners will have booths and information. CTS and NSBA will have their info relating to striper tourney's and future plans on a regional scale. LNSS and NFA or course will have booths for membership renewals and tournaments in 2005. Food and drink will be available along with many fishing boats to view (Bass Pro is providing 3 types for view, Lund, Champion and others). We will have several additional informational tables from basic techniques to advanced along with other tables related to Norman fishing partner programs (Jeff Tomlin - planer boards, Will & Phil - knots and rigs, Dick G - boat graphics, etc...) Should be fun for the fishermen, the spouse and the kids!! That's hard to find sometimes. All of this activity will generate growth and revenue for Norman as a fishery. Hope I didn't leave too many un-named here, but there's even more than this brief discription (Perth Marine, Perth Bait and Tackle, Bec Car printing, Fisherman's Friend, West Marine and more). Huge thanks to BIG DADDY'S for sponsoring and providing the space...also donating the slaw to eat. A

Guys we apologize. We had the tourney advertised for about a month now with Saturday November 27th. That date did not take into consideration the opening of deer season.
